Alumni News: May 2025

Here are just a few highlights of where you can catch our alumni this month.

Latest releases 

  • Harriet Walter stars in episode three, season seven of Black Mirror which was released on 10 April. 
  • Nick Haverson starred in The Government Inspector at the Chichester Festival Theatre from 25 April - 24 May. 
  • Kieran Knowles and Ami Tredrea starred in Hamlet Hail to the Thief from 27 April - 18 May at South Warehouse. 
  • Fences, which plays at the Laguna Playhouse in California from 30 April - 18 May stars Tamarra Graham. 
  • 1536 at the Almeida Theatre, which runs from 6 May - 7 June, features Sound Designer Tingying Dong. 
  • John Lithgow stars in the new eleven-part podcast drama Buzz. The series debuts on 6 May. 
  • Julie Hesmondhalgh will be performing in An Oak Tree at The Young Vic. The show runs from 6 May - 24 May. 
  • Mischief Theatre’s new production, The Comedy About Spies, is written by Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, with Jonathan Sayer as Executive Producer. The show opened on 6 May at the Noel Coward Theatre and stars Dave Hearn, Chris Leask, Henry Lewis, Charlie Russell, Henry Shields, Greg Tannahill, Nancy Zamit, Adam Byron and Matt Cavendish.  
  • Matt Doyle stars in the off-Broadway production of Conversations with Mother,which played at Theater555 until 7 May. 
  • All That Glitters which plays at Theatre503 from 7 - 8 May is written by Alex Critoph and stars Dannielle Phillips. 
  • Georgina Duncan stars in The Mousetrap at St. Martin's Theatre from 12 May 2025. 
  • Following a run at the King’s Head Theatre in March, Jazz Jenkins will star in (THIS IS NOT A) HAPPY ROOM at the Theatre Royal Windsor from 13 - 17 May. 
  • Radiant Boy, which plays at Southwark Playhouse from 21 May - 14 June stars Stuart Thompson and is directed by Júlia Levai. 
  • Stereophonic at the Duke of York’s Theatre stars Lucy Karcezewski and will play from 24 May - 20 September. 
  • Blood Wedding which plays at Omnibus Theatre until 24 May stars Kiefer Moriarty. 
  • Inger Tudor joins the cast of Hamlet at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, which plays from 28 May - 6 July. 
  • Lizzie Powell is the Lighting Designer for The Queen of Spades at Garsington Opera. The show runs from 29 May - 4 July.  
  • The Life of Chuck starring Chiwetel Ejiofor will premiere in the US on 30 May. 
  • The Phoenician Scheme, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, will be released in cinemas on 30 May. 
  • David Moorst stars in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Bridge Theatre from 31 May - 23 August. 
  • Sarah Thorn stars in Othello until 8 June at Barrymore Theatre on Broadway. 
  • John Lithgow stars in Giant at the Royal Court until 2 August, with Sound Design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. 

Things to look forward to    

  • Naomi Sheldon stars in Anna Karenina at Chichester Festival Theatre from 7 - 28 June. 
  • Victor Lirio directs REP’s production of ART which plays from 13 - 21 June at REP Eastwood Theater in Quezon City. 
  • Anna Chancellor stars in the upcoming series Outrageous, will which be released in the UK on 19 June. 
  • Stephan Boyce stars in the world premiere of The Boy With Wings. The show will run in Polka’s main theatre from 21 June - 16 August, before transferring to Birmingham Rep from 21 - 30 August. 
  • Paterson Joseph will present Sancho & Me at the Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival 2025 on 25 June. 
  • Alexandra Faye Braithwaite is the Sound Designer for Liberation, which will have its world premiere at the Manchester International Festival from 27 June - 26 July. 
  • Tinuke Craig directs Noughts and Crosses at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre which runs from 28 June - 26 July. The show stars Yolanda Ovide and Elle Davies.  
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in The Old Guard 2 which will be released on 2 July 2025. 
  • Jeremy Irvine stars in the series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which premiers on 8 August. 
  • Hamlet at the National Theatre stars Alistair Petrie and Hari McKinnon with Sound Design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. The show runs from 25 September - 22 November. 
  • NCIS: Tony & Ziva starring James D’Arcy will be released in autumn this year. 
  • Richard Armitage will voice the next two books in LJ Ross’s Alexander Gregory series, which will be published in September 2025 and 2026. 
  • Emily Beecham stars in the upcoming film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will be released in June 2026. 
  • Joseph Quinn will play George Harrison in The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, which will be released in April 2028. 

Latest news 

  • Natasha Chivers has been nominated at the 2025 Tony Awards for Best Lighting Design for the Jez Butterworth play, The Hills of California. 
  • John Lithgow won Best Actor at the 2025 Olivier Awards for his portrayal of Roald Dahl in Giant.  
  • Daniel Quinn-Toye is nominated for the 2025 Ian Charleson Awards.  
  • Rebecca Frecknall’s revival of A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway has been nominated for Outstanding Revival of a Play at the New York Drama League Awards 2025.
