Alumni News: January 2025

Here are just a few highlights of where you can catch our alumni this month.

Latest releases  

  • Mufasa: The Lion King, with the voice of Aaron Pierre, is now showing in cinemas. 
  • The Road Trip, featuring Laurie Davidson and Angus Imrie, is now streaming on Paramount+. 
  • HAPPYAGONY - A Collection of Poems by Mem Ferda was released on 28 November.  
  • Jeeves Takes Charge, adapted and directed by Hugh Wooldridge, played at the Theatre Royal Bath from 6 December - 4 January. 
  • Richard Armitage and Rosalind Eleazar star in the series Missing You, which was released on Netflix on 1 January. 
  • We Live In Time, which was released on 1 January, is produced by Benedict Cumberbatch’s production company, Sunnymarch, and stars Lee Braithwaite. 
  • All’s Well That Ends Well, which played at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse until 4 January, starred William Robinson and Adam Wadsworth.  
  • Hold on to your Butts, which played at the Arcola Theatre until 4 January, starred Jack Baldwin and Laurence Pears. The show will embark on a UK tour in 2025. 
  • Hansel and Gretel, which played at The Globe until 5 January, starred Ned Costello and Beverly Rudd. 
  • The pantomime Beauty and The Beast, which played at Richmond Theatre until 7 January, starred Maureen Lipman. 
  • Sam Bampoe Parry stars in Belly of the Beast from 7 January - 1 February at Finborough Theatre.
  • Nigel Hastings stars in FIREBIRD at the King’s Head Theatre from 9 January – 9 February. 
  • Emily Beecham stars in the upcoming film William Tell, which will be released across the UK and Ireland from 10 January. 
  • Saroja-Lily Ratnavel stars in Cymbeline from 10 January - 20 April at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. 
  • Daniel Millar and Thom Petty star in Twelfth Night at the RSC’s Royal Shakespeare Theatre until 18 January. 
  • Nicholas Bruns stars in The Gift from 22 January – 1 March at Park Theatre.  
  • Jason Flemyng stars in upcoming Apple TV+ series Prime Target, which will be released on 22 January. 
  • Hugh Skinner and Julian Bleach star in The Importance of Being Earnest at the Lyttelton Theatre, National Theatre until 25 January. 
  • Sam Jenkins-Shaw will star in Mrs President at Charing Cross Theatre from 31 January - 16 March. 
  • Three Sisters, which plays at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse from 31 January - 19 April, stars Stuart Thompson. 
  • Justin Mayer stars in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from 31 January - 16 February in Ft. Worth, TX at Casa Mañana. 
  • Rebecca Frecknall directs Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which will run at the Almeida Theatre until 1 February. 
  • Matthew Tennyson stars in The Invention of Love at Hampstead Theatre until 1 February. 
  • Stanley Morgan and John Light star in the Young Vic’s new revival of The Little Foxes, playing until 8 February, with Sound Design by Tingying Dong. 
  • Gabby Beans stars in Romeo + Juliet on Broadway until 16 February at the Circle in the Square Theatre. 

Things to look forward to    

  • Rebecca Frecknall’s 2022 revival of A Streetcar Named Desire returns to London at the Noël Coward Theatre from 3 – 22 February, before it debuts at the Almeida Theatre for its US premiere from 28 February – 6 April. 
  • Matt Doyle stars in the off-Broadway production of Conversations with Mother,which plays at Theater555 from 7 February – 7 May 2025. 
  • Alec Newman and Luke Treadway star in East is South at Hampstead Theatre from 7 February – 15 March, with Sound Design by Tingying Dong. 
  • Ben Daniels stars in DOUBT a Parable from 7 February – 8 March at the Theatre Royal Bath. 
  • Rhiannon Neads stars in The Autobiography of a Cad at the Watermill Theatre from 7 February – 22 March. 
  • The Score, starring Brian Cox, transfers to Theatre Royal Haymarket this spring, with performances from 20 February - 26 April. 
  • A new adaptation of Romeo and Juliet at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry stars Kyle Ndukuba. The show will run from 21 February – 8 March before transferring to the Bristol Old Vic from 12 March – 5 April and Hackney Empire from 23 – 26 April. 
  • Rory Kinnear, Harry Hadden-Patton and Cameron Johnson will star in Here We Are at Lyttelton Theatre, National Theatre from 23 April – 28 June. 
  • The Life of Chuck starring Chiwetel Ejiofor will premiere on in the US on 30 May. 
  • A Moon for the Misbegotten, which plays at the Almeida Theatre from 17 June - 16 August, is directed by Rebecca Frecknall and stars Ruth Wilson. 
  • A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story, with composer Tingying Dong, plays at Alexandra Palace from 22 November – 4 January 2026.  
  • Silo starring Harriet Walter on Apple TV+ has been renewed for third and fourth season.
